How to Set Goals Youll Actually Achieve IM HIRED

How to Set Goals Youll Actually Achieve Get on Top of your Goals   Setting goals is a past time that is usually reserved for New Year’s Eve. A time where the whole world becomes obsessed with making a better version of themselves and succeeding with all the plans that they made  but failed to achieve the year before. But why are so many of us just keeping the idea of goal setting to a once a year ritual? And more importantly why do we never follow through with those commitments? The answer might be simpler than you think. It’s all about setting goals that are not just achievable but are realistic and attainable. Start Small Your end goal might be to manage your own business but having one huge goal in front of you can easily become overwhelming. Break your goals into bite size chunks and starting smaller to grow towards your end ambition. For example, look to start a side business alongside your full time career, setting tasks such as building a portfolio or a client list. Moving forward one step at a time. Every little achievement adds up to the end result so don’t get hung up on attaining the end result straightaway. Have a Clear Timeline Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither were all your goals achieved over night, so be realistic. Don’t set yourself up to fail by setting impossibly difficult deadlines. Figure out a sensible timeline and  have a contingency. Even the best laid plans can have hiccups so be prepared for things to go off track from time to time. Dont drive yourself to hard to achieve the end result. Enjoy the journey and realise you will get there eventually. Review Your Progress When setting goals you need to factor in time to review your progress and make improvements to your plan of action. Takr time out to celebrate your accomplishments but moreover evaluating areas that didn’t go exactly to plan. Forward thinking is a must. Consider where pity falls may occur during your strategy and how you can avoid these situations occurring. Be honest with yourself, helping you better migrate through the challenges that lie ahead. Stay Focused Motivation is vital to keeping yourself focused on achieving the goals you have set yourself. It is easy to become distracted and worse of all procrastinate when it comes to getting the job done. You’ll need a  positive mind set and a well-defined structure to help you get to the finish line. You aren’t going to feel pumped up every day of the week and that’s absolutely fine so just be open to good days and bad ones. But don’t spend too much time focusing on the bad. Get Others Involved There is no better way to stay on track than having a helping hand. Someone who can keep you on course and can pick you up when you’re feeling like you want to give up. Having some support will also allow you to  achieve your goals quicker. But make sure its beneficial for both parties and learn to give back to those supporting you. Whether you use an expert like a life or career couch to get you through your goals or just a great friend for guidance, everyone needs some support once in a while.
